Robbie's Complete Automotive & Collision Specialists was established in 1983. It was a joint
venture between my father and myself. We took over an old tire dealer, Schwab Tire.
The building was originally built in 1928. Schwab Tire Company was in business for over 30 years
in this location. It was originally owned by Sam Schwab and passed down to his son Mike. Schwab Tire was a long
time landmark in Dover. Mike Schwab was fed up with the automotive industry and agreed to sell me his business
while he financed the building. We did keep one employee, Hank Will III. He was a former Electrical Engineer from
Picatinny Arsenal. Together, he and I made all the necessary renovations needed to get the new business
started.
Once I opened I was doing all of the mechanical repair work and was dealing with customers. My father Bernie, who
was an accountant, was doing tire sales, scheduling customer repairs and running the administrative aspect of the
office. Shortly thereafter, we hired our first employee to help with the mechanical repair work.
While doing mechanical repairs on vehicles that had just had body work done at other body shops;
we were witnessing these vehicles had major problems still not fixed. The body shop either did not see or did not
have the knowledge and or skills necessary to correct the problem and repair it. That is when I knew that my
attention to detail and appreciation for quality work, would have me start a body shop here as well. At the time we
were only using one third of the building for performing mechanical repairs and doing tires, so we had plenty of
room to grow.
Over the past 23 years, since the body shop began, we have grown in quality and recognition throughout the county,
state and Tri-State area. We have customers that come from as far as New York City, Connecticut and
Pennsylvania.
We work hard to maintain and improve upon our quality of standards in our work and performance. We continually
strive to employ and educate the best people in the industry. Our technicians are ASE and I-CAR certified.
Additionally, we keep up to date with the latest technology, equipment and training available.
My Father, Bernie finally retired in the early part of 2000 after many years of hard work and dedication. He not
only helped this company grow but will always be a part of the stature and integrity that this company was founded
on. He is enjoying his retirement with my mother in Florida very much.
My goal for the next ten years is to expand the business with the same dedication to quality, training, and
customer satisfaction possible. I believe what makes us stand above the rest in this business is our Teamwork
approach to every repair. Specialists in different phases of the repair process help evaluate each job prior to
starting it to ensure that the correct parts are ordered before actually starting the repair. This ensures a
streamline and efficient repair so that vehicles are returned to showroom quality in a timely manner.

We strive for 100% customer satisfaction each and every time. Upon completion of the repair
process, every customer is mailed a survey with pictures. Every survey returned is carefully read. We take customer
comments seriously. Customer satisfaction and peace of mind is our number one concern. We at Robbie’s are committed
to our motto of “anyone can remove dents, we remove doubts”. Happy customers are not good enough for us at
Robbie’s.
We take great pride in having our customer tell us how they have become ‘Robbie Fans/Outside
Sales Reps’. We are humble, but talking to some of our ‘Fans’ you will find sincerity, honesty and quality of
workmanship carries our reputation throughout the tri-state area and possibly beyond.
